PageKeeper Privacy Policy
PageKeeper ("the App", "we", "us") is a Shopify app that protects merchants against broken product links. When a product is deleted, archived, or set to draft, PageKeeper serves a branded "rescue" page instead of a 404. This policy explains what data the App processes, why, and how it is protected.
1. Information we collect
PageKeeper only processes store and product (catalog) data. It does not collect, store, or process any of your customers' personal data (names, emails, addresses, orders, or payment information).
- Store information: your
.myshopify.comdomain and the offline access token Shopify issues, used solely to call the Shopify Admin API on your behalf. - Product snapshots: product details we back up so a deleted product can still be shown or restored — title, handle, description, images, vendor, product type, tags, status, price, options, variants, SEO, and metafields.
- Operational records: redirect records and activity logs generated by the App (e.g. "redirect created", "product deleted") to power the dashboard.
2. How we use the data
- To detect when a product becomes deleted, archived, or draft (via Shopify webhooks).
- To create URL redirects in your store and serve a themed rescue page in place of a 404.
- To let you restore a deleted product back into your Shopify admin from its snapshot.
- To display protection status, statistics, and activity in the app dashboard.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Data storage and security
Data is stored in Cloudflare D1 (a managed SQLite database) and processed on Cloudflare Workers. Access is restricted to the App's operation and protected in transit by HTTPS. Access tokens are used only to communicate with Shopify's APIs.
4. Data retention and deletion
- Snapshots and related records are kept while the App is installed so your product links stay protected.
- When you uninstall the App, its session and access token are removed.
- Shopify sends a
shop/redactrequest approximately 48 hours after uninstall; on receipt we permanently delete all of that store's data (snapshots, redirects, and logs). - Because the App holds no customer personal data,
customers/data_requestandcustomers/redactrequests have no personal data to return or erase; we acknowledge them as required.
You may also request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
5. Shopify permissions
The App requests only the scopes needed to function: reading products and inventory, and managing products and online-store redirects so it can protect, restore, and redirect links.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
